In Memory

Barbara Smith (Harper Gray)

Barbara Smith (Harper Gray)

Barbara Harper Gray, of Cedarburg, went to her eternal home with Christ her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.  She was 66 years old.  Barbara was born in Milwaukee on November 15, 1949, daughter of Roy Smith and Freda Amodt Smith.  She grew up in the Mequon area, later moving with her family to Whitefish Bay.  Barbara was a very gracious and giving person who loved the finer things in life.  She was a longtime resident of Cedarburg and a true friend of the community.  Barbara was involved with the Cedarburg Art Museum, assisting in organizing their High Tea events.  She frequented tea houses in the area and was an original “foodie” who enjoyed experiencing international foods with family and friends.  She was a very polished lady who in her free time adored the outdoors, God’s creations, knitting, sewing and studying God’s Word.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her beloved family.  She is survived by her daughter Kirstie (Kevin) Erickson of Colgate and her three grandchildren: Abigail, Micah and Peter.  She is further survived by her step-mother Helga Smith of Milwaukee, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jeffrey G. Smith.
In accordance to her wishes, a private natural burial service will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.  A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, April 22nd, starting at 6 PM, at Wooded Hills Church, 777 State Road 164, Colgate.  There will be fellowship and food following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made towards Barbara's church, Shalom Baptist (http://www.shalombaptistmequon.org) or Wooded Hills Church (www.woodedhills.com) for the outpouring of support, love and prayers.
The Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
